How Unibet left Canada, step by step
Unibet ran two separate operations for Canadians: a regulated Ontario site and the international .com casino for the other provinces. They closed at different times.

The last archived .com terms named Kserol P.L.C. (company C 88882) as operator, under Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2C/1031/2023, and set an inactivity fee of CAD 7. The country selector that replaced the casino lists Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France and Monaco, Ireland, Malta, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden and the UK. The .com general terms page now returns a 404 error.

Old accounts, the AGCO penalty and where to play now
For Ontario account holders, the closure notice is short: "on.Unibet.ca is now closed. As of March 26, 2024, this platform has been permanently closed. Therefore, you can no longer access your account." It gives no further instructions about balances, and we found no separate notice about the .com accounts used elsewhere in Canada. We cannot describe a recovery route Unibet has not published.
Before it left, Unibet's Ontario operator was penalised. On 25 August 2022 the AGCO issued a $48,000 monetary penalty to Unibet ON Inc. for advertising that promoted "generous welcome offers" between 19 and 22 May 2022, contrary to the AGCO's Standard 2.05 on advertising and inducements.
For a regulated alternative, start with your province rather than a brand name. In Ontario, legal private casinos are registered with the AGCO and hold an iGaming Ontario agreement. In Alberta, whose regulated market opened on 13 July 2026, they hold AGLC registration and an agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC).
