Nova Scotia casino online play has one regulated home: the online games run for the province through Atlantic Lottery. Under Nova Scotia's Atlantic Lottery Regulations, no one else may conduct, manage or operate an online game in the province, and players must be 19 or older. Offshore casinos also take Nova Scotians - 209 of the casinos we cover do not exclude the province in their terms - but none of them is licensed in Nova Scotia.

Who may run online casino games in Nova Scotia
Gambling in Canada is regulated province by province. In Nova Scotia, the Gaming Control Act and its Atlantic Lottery Regulations set the rules for online play:
- Section 2B says no person other than the provincial corporation named in the regulations may conduct or manage an online game in the province, and no one other than Atlantic Lottery may operate one on its behalf.
- Section 7(5) requires reasonable steps to keep anyone under 19 from taking part in an online game, and section 7(6) bars paying an online prize to anyone under 19.
- The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation describes itself as the steward of the province's gaming industry. It works with its operators, Atlantic Lottery and Casino Nova Scotia, and says it returns 100% of the profits to government programs and good causes.
Nova Scotia's Age of Majority Act sets adulthood at 19, the same age the regulations use for online games. One naming trap: Casino Nova Scotia is the name of the province's casino operator listed by the NSGC, so a search for "casino Nova Scotia online" can mean the land-based casinos as well as online play. Only the Atlantic Lottery route is the province's own online offer.

Nova Scotia casino websites that accept players
Search for Nova Scotia casino sites and most results are offshore casinos. A new online casino Nova Scotia players see advertised is still an offshore site unless it is part of the Atlantic Lottery offer. Alberta's registered market, live since 13 July 2026, and Ontario's market serve residents of those provinces only, so their new sites are not open to Nova Scotians either.
