How CollectR replaces paylines

ELK calls the mechanic CollectR. Each spin fills the grid with amber gem symbols in four colours, plus the occasional feature symbol. Four birds, one per colour, then move across the grid and collect the gems that match their own colour. Collected gems pay according to their type and level.

Three things follow from that design, and they make the game feel quite unlike a line or scatter slot:

• Position matters. A bird can only collect what it can reach. Gaps on the grid can block a path until something fills them.
• Wins come from collection. What counts is what the birds pick up, not a row or a cluster of matching symbols.
• The grid can change size. It starts at 6x6, and certain feature symbols expand it, which gives the birds more to collect.

The game data sheet puts the bet range at EUR 0.20 to EUR 100. The demo, run in Canadian dollars, shows a default ladder from C$0.40 to C$200, so the steps differ between the sheet and the demo. Real-money limits are whatever the casino has configured.

We have no sourced symbol paytable for Pirots 2, so this page shows none. The value of a collection depends on the gem type and its upgrade level, both of which change during play.

If you have never seen the format, the demo above is the quickest way to understand it. Watching the birds move for a few spins explains more than any description.

Finding Pirots 2 in a Canadian lobby

Eighteen of the casinos we cover publish a provider list that includes ELK Studios. Among them are High Flyer Casino and Swiper Casino, which hold Ontario registrations, and PlayOJO and Knightslots, brands that run Ontario sites alongside sites licensed outside Canada. The rest are offshore sites with no provincial licence.

We did not find Pirots 2 named on any of those casinos' own pages when we checked, so the list above marks none of them as seen. A studio on a provider list is a good sign, not proof that one title is live. Before you deposit anywhere:

1. Search the lobby for "Pirots 2" with the number. The original Pirots and later titles in the series sit under similar names.
2. Open the game's info screen and confirm the RTP. ELK's sheet gives one figure, 94.0%, and any other number tells you the site runs a different setting.
3. Check that the site you are on is the right one for your province. A brand's Ontario site and its offshore site can be run by different companies, with different lobbies.

Ontario players are limited to AGCO-registered sites with an iGaming Ontario agreement. In Alberta, sites registered with the AGLC under an AiGC agreement have been open since 13 July 2026. Elsewhere, the regulated option is the provincial lottery corporation's site, and offshore casinos are not licensed by any province.

Upgrades, the meter and the chests

Most of what makes Pirots 2 feel different comes from three linked systems that build on each other as the birds collect.

Gem upgrades

Amber symbols can be upgraded up to seven times. Each upgrade raises what that gem pays when a bird collects it. Upgrade symbols are one of the feature symbols that can land, so a grid can become noticeably more valuable over a few drops.

The feature meter

Every symbol the birds collect adds to a meter. When the meter fills, the game awards three chests of feature symbols, which then go into play. The meter is the slot's way of turning a long run of small collections into something bigger.

What the feature symbols do

ELK's list covers eight kinds:

• Coin wins
• Upgrades, which raise gem levels
• Wilds
• Grid expansion, which makes the grid larger
• Redrops
• Transformations
• Popcorn, which fills empty positions so birds can cross a gap, once
• Bonus symbols, three of which start the bonus game

The in-game rules describe each one in full; ELK's data sheet names them.

Popcorn deserves a note because it solves the game's own problem. When gaps block the birds, a popcorn symbol fills those spaces for one crossing, letting a bird reach gems it would otherwise miss.

The bonus game and what carries over

Three bonus symbols start the bonus game. The detail that makes it worth waiting for is what the round keeps: the grid size, the meter and the upgrade levels all persist through the bonus. Each bonus spin therefore builds on the state the previous one left behind.

That persistence is how the game reaches its higher results. A bonus that expands the grid and upgrades gems early has more value on the board for every spin that follows. A bonus that stalls early stays small, which is part of why the volatility is rated so high.

ELK also lists a super bonus. The data sheet confirms that it exists and that the 500x X-iter mode buys it, but it does not spell out how it differs from the standard bonus, so we will not guess. The in-game rules on the casino you use are the place to read that detail before you pay for it.

How often does anything happen?

The sheet gives a hit frequency of 25.4%. That means about one spin in four returns some win, of any size, and three in four return nothing. A low hit frequency combined with a high volatility rating is a strong hint that the long-run return is concentrated in features and bonuses rather than spread over regular spins.

For a player, the practical meaning is a stake that allows for long runs of empty spins. If that pattern is not what you enjoy, look at slots with a lower rating in our volatility guide.

94.0% RTP and 8 of 10: reading ELK's numbers

The return to player is the weakest number on this page. ELK's sheet and the demo's own settings both give 94.0%, and no alternative version is listed. Most of the slots we cover publish a default between roughly 96% and 97%, so Pirots 2 keeps a noticeably larger share of each dollar wagered over the long run.

Put plainly, the house edge on Pirots 2 is about 6%, against about 3.5% on a game at 96.50%. That difference does not decide any one session, which is dominated by volatility, but it adds up over many sessions. If a high return matters most to you, our high-RTP list is the better starting point.

Volatility on ELK's ten-point scale

ELK rates volatility on a scale of one to ten and puts Pirots 2 at 8. That is high: wins are less frequent, and a larger share of the return sits in rare big features. It sits in our high-volatility list for that reason.

10,000x in dollars

The stated maximum win is 10,000x the bet. On the data sheet's range that is EUR 2,000 at EUR 0.20 and EUR 1,000,000 at EUR 100. On the demo's Canadian ladder it is C$4,000 at C$0.40 and C$2,000,000 at C$200. ELK does not publish how often the cap is reached.

One caution when you compare figures online: ELK's own game page has a demo window that loads a different build with a 25,000x top win. The 10,000x figure belongs to Pirots 2 as described in its data sheet, and it is the build our demo above runs.

X-iter: paying to skip ahead

X-iter is ELK's name for its buy and boost menu. Pirots 2 has five X-iter modes, priced as multiples of the bet:

ELK's material lists the prices and identifies the 500x mode as the Super Bonus, but does not describe in detail what each of the lower modes changes. Read the mode descriptions inside the game before you press anything, because the price applies to every use.

Two general points hold for any buy. First, ELK publishes no separate return for the X-iter modes, so do not assume paying more improves the 94.0% figure. Second, on a volatility-8 game, an expensive mode can return far less than its price, and that can happen often.

ELK lists two related titles: the original Pirots and Pirots 5, subtitled Cursed Temple. The numbering is part of a series, so check the full name in any lobby before you assume you have the sequel.

As mentioned above, the demo button on ELK's own Pirots 2 page currently opens a different game id with a different top win, so figures you read next to that window may not match this page. • how often the birds clear a full grid and how gaps block them;
• how quickly the meter fills at your usual stake;
• what each X-iter mode looks like in play.
