Verdict

9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins keeps the original's 96.24% RTP, medium volatility and 20-line layout and adds paid single-reel respins at 96.74%. The respins give you real choices, but cent rounding can make cheap ones poor value. The top win and bet range are not published outside the in-game paytable, and the demo did not load when it was checked, so two marks stay at zero.

  • Same 96.24% base RTP and medium volatility as the original game
  • HyperSpins respins carry a published 96.74% RTP

  • Free spins wheel sets both the spin count and a multiplier

Watch out for

  • Maximum win is not published outside the in-game paytable

  • Provider demo stopped at the loading screen when checked in October 2026
  • No published bet range or symbol pays

9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins is a Gameburger Studios slot sold through Games Global. It keeps the familiar 5x3 layout, 20 fixed paylines and medium volatility of the original game, then adds HyperSpins: after any base game spin, you may pay to respin one reel, as many times as you like, at a price the game shows you first.

This page explains what that respin really costs, why the help file quotes two RTP figures, how the mask scatters and the free spins wheel work, and what to look for before you try 9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins free play or real-money play in Canada. Some figures, including the top win, are only in the in-game paytable, and we say so where they are missing.

What HyperSpins adds to a familiar game

Take away HyperSpins and you have the base maths of 9 Masks of Fire: an RTP of 96.24%, a medium volatility rating and an "any 7s" style game that the studio describes as built in the manner of a land-based machine. The studio page and the help file give the new title those same figures, so the change is entirely in what you can do between spins.

The rule, as the official help file states it, is short:

  • After any base game spin, any single reel can be respun.
  • You can respin again and again, one reel at a time.
  • Each respin has its own cost, shown on the reel before you accept it, and that cost scales with your bet.
  • Only new wins created by the respin are paid. A win you already had on the first spin is not paid a second time.

That last point matters. A respin is a fresh purchase, not a free second look at a winning screen. Because the price scales with your bet, a bigger stake also means a bigger price for every respin.

HyperSpins is not a bonus buy. You are not paying to enter the free spins round directly; you are paying to redraw one column of symbols. The help file lists no feature buy, and the studio page mentions none either. Gameburger notes that the same mechanic has been added to 9 Pots of Gold, Playboy Fortunes and Hyper Strike, so if the idea appeals to you, it is not unique to this game.

Casinos

Where to play 9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins

How we know: a casino is listed when its published provider list includes Games Global; "seen" means the title was in its own top-games row on that date.

All casinos with Games Global games

Finding 9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins at a Canadian casino

The game is made by Gameburger Studios and distributed by Games Global, so it reaches casinos through the Games Global catalogue. A casino whose provider list includes Games Global is the right place to look, but a provider list is not a promise that every title is live. Search the lobby for the full name before you deposit, because the original 9 Masks of Fire and several other family members sit under very similar names.

Which kind of site you can use depends on where you live:

Where you areRegulated optionMinimum age
OntarioSites registered with the AGCO that hold an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario19
AlbertaSites registered with the AGLC under an AiGC agreement, live since 13 July 2026, plus the provincial site18

Offshore casinos open to Canadians hold no provincial licence. Our guide to legal online casinos explains the difference, and the Games Global provider page lists the casinos we cover that publish Games Global among their suppliers. When you open the game, check that the title bar reads HyperSpins; the respin buttons are the easiest way to tell it apart from the original.

Features

How 9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins plays

Base game and bonus features as the provider's rules describe them.

  • HyperSpins After any base game spin, any single reel can be respun (repeatedly) for a separate displayed cost; only new wins from the respin pay; cost scales with bet.
  • Mask scatter pays 3+ Mask symbols anywhere pay x total bet; added to line wins; stacked Masks of Fire per the studio page.
  • Free Spins Wheel 3 Free Spin symbols (reels 2-4) pay and spin a wheel that awards a number of free spins and a multiplier for line and Free Spin symbol wins.
  • Retriggers Retriggering adds the same number of free spins again at the same multiplier.
  • Any 7s Classic land-based style base game (studio page).

Masks, free spin symbols and the wheel

Three symbol types do most of the work in this game, and each follows a different rule.

The Wild

The Wild stands in for every symbol except the Mask and the Free Spin symbol. It completes line wins on the 20 fixed paylines and nothing more.

Mask scatters

Three or more Masks anywhere on the screen pay a multiple of your total bet. That pay is added to any line wins on the same spin. The studio page says the Masks of Fire can land stacked, which is why a single reel can hold more than one. This is also where HyperSpins becomes interesting: with two Masks showing, a respin on another reel is a direct attempt at the scatter pay. Note that Mask wins are not multiplied by the wheel multiplier during free spins.

Free Spin symbols and the wheel

Free Spin symbols appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4. Three of them pay a multiple of your total bet and spin the Free Spins Wheel. The wheel then sets two numbers at once: how many free spins you get and the multiplier applied to line wins and Free Spin symbol wins during the round. Landing the trigger again inside the round adds the same number of spins once more, at the same multiplier.

The exact wheel segments, the spin counts and the multiplier values are printed only in the in-game paytable. We could not load that paytable, so we cannot list them here, and we would rather leave a gap than guess.

Maths

RTP and volatility in dollars

Over a very long run, 9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins is set to pay back about C$96.24 of every C$100 wagered; the house keeps about C$3.76. At C$1 a spin, 500 spins means C$500 wagered and an expected cost of about C$18.80 - real sessions land far above or below that.

The same game also exists at 96.74%. A lower version costs more per C$100 wagered, and the casino - not you - picks which one runs.

Medium volatility: a mix of small wins and occasional bigger features.

Two RTP figures and the rounding rule

The help file gives the game an RTP of 96.24%, the same as the original 9 Masks of Fire. It gives the HyperSpins respins their own figure: 96.74%. On paper, money spent on respins returns slightly more over the long run than money spent on normal spins.

The same help file adds a warning that is easy to miss. Respin prices are rounded up to the nearest cent. When the true price of a respin is a fraction of a cent, rounding up means you pay more than the maths assumes, and the RTP of that respin drops. The file goes further: some respins priced at 0.01 have an RTP of 0%.

What this means in practice:

  • The 96.74% figure is not a promise for every respin you buy, because rounding can lower it.
  • Very cheap respins on small bets are where rounding hurts most.
  • A respin priced at 0.01 can be one of those with a 0% return, so a very low price is not a bargain in itself.
  • Neither figure changes the fact that the house keeps an edge. Respins are a choice to spend more, not a way to recover losses.

Casinos can run different versions of a game, so open the game's info screen and confirm the RTP your casino shows. Our guide to RTP versions covers how to find it.

The rest of the Masks of Fire family

HyperSpins is one branch of a long series, and the titles are easy to confuse in a lobby search. Gameburger and Games Global list these relatives:

  • 9 Masks of Fire, the original with the same 96.24% base RTP and medium volatility, without paid respins.
  • 9 Masks of Fire King Millions and 9 Masks of Fire Land & Win, two further versions of the same theme.
  • 12 Masks of Fire Drums and 12 Masks of Fire Drum Frenzy, which move to twelve masks.
  • 9 Pots of Gold HyperSpins, a different theme with the same respin mechanic.

If you like the original but find yourself wishing you could fix the one reel that missed, HyperSpins is the version built around that wish. If you prefer to set a bet and let the spins run, the original does the same job without the extra decisions. Either way, the line pays and the scatter rules are the familiar ones; only the respin layer is new.

Free play and the demo

Games Global publishes a play-money demo launch for 9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins. When that launch was checked on 29 October 2026 from Europe, the game loaded its files and logged in to demo mode, then stopped on the loading screen with a server error before the reels appeared. Other Games Global demos from the same server failed in the same way. It has not been checked from Canada, so it may work for you; in the European check the error came from the game server, not the browser.

A working demo is the best way to understand HyperSpins, because you can see how respin prices move from reel to reel and from bet to bet without paying for the lesson. If you are searching for 9 Masks of Fire HyperSpins free play, the provider demo is the only free version we can point to; whether a casino offers its own practice mode is up to that casino.

Things worth watching in a demo session:

  1. How the quoted respin price changes when two Masks are already on screen.
  2. How often the cheapest respins are offered, and on which reels.
  3. What the wheel awards when free spins start, which tells you the spin counts and multipliers the paytable lists.

Who the HyperSpins version suits

This is a game for players who enjoy making decisions. Every base spin ends with a question: take the result, or pay to change one reel? That makes sessions slower to read and easier to overspend, because the total you wager is no longer just bet size times spins.

It suits you if:

  • you already know the original 9 Masks of Fire and want a version where a near miss can be followed up;
  • you are happy to check a price before every respin and walk away from the expensive ones;
  • a medium volatility rating and a classic 20-line screen are what you look for.

It is a poor fit if you want a published top prize before you play, if you prefer one fixed cost per spin, or if you want to try a demo first and the provider's one does not load for you. For slots with a feature buy instead of reel respins, see our bonus buy list.

What the published rules leave out

We score and describe games from the provider's own material. For this title that material is thinner than usual, and it is fair to say exactly where:

  • Maximum win: not stated in the help file or on the studio page.
  • Bet range: not stated outside the in-game paytable. Each casino also sets its own limits.
  • Symbol pays and wheel values: only in the paytable, which did not load when checked.
  • Release date: the studio page was first published on 2 August 2023 and the help file carries a 2021 copyright, but neither is a confirmed launch date.

A missing figure never earns points in our score, which is why the win potential and mobile marks are zero. Read our slot rating method for the full rules.

Paid respins can make a session move faster than you expect, since every respin is another bet. Set a budget before you start and stick to it; our responsible gambling page lists the tools and helplines available in each province.
