What the Christmas edition changes is mostly visual:

• The top symbol is a Christmas bauble float.
• The fishing rod is striped like a candy cane, and the tackle box is wrapped as a gift.
• A sleigh sits among the mid-value symbols, next to the gift box.
• The Scatter is a bass in a Santa hat, and the Wild is a Santa fisherman.

What 96.71% and a 2,100x cap mean in dollars

The RTP is a single published figure: 96.71% for normal play and 96.71% for the buy. Pragmatic Play's own game page shows only that number, and the in-game rules agree. Casinos can still run other builds of a game, so the info screen is worth a look.

The cap is low by modern standards, and it is worth translating into stakes from the demo's range:

Note how the biggest fish value, 2,000x, sits just under the cap. In the base game, the best line pays 200x the bet for five bauble floats, followed by 100x for five candy-cane rods. The card ranks A, K, Q, J and 10 all pay the same: 10x for five, 2.5x for four and 0.5x for three.

Two things to know before you count on it:

• It is not offered everywhere. Under the UK jurisdiction the buy button is hidden. Opened from Spain without a jurisdiction setting, the demo server applied the UK build and the buy was missing; the international setting brought it back.
