The Big Bass Splash slot game in brief

Big Bass Splash belongs to Reel Kingdom's Big Bass series, which now runs to around twenty titles. Compared with the original Big Bass Bonanza, it keeps the same 10-line, 5x3 layout and the fisherman-collects-fish idea, but raises the ceiling from 2,100x to 5,000x and moves the volatility label from low to medium.

Three numbers frame the whole game:

• RTP 96.71%. The same figure applies when you buy the free spins, so the buy does not cost you return on paper.
• Medium volatility. This is the label in the game's own rules. Pragmatic now uses a three-step scale (low, medium, high), so older ratings you may see elsewhere on a five-point scale are not the studio's current label.
• 5,000x max win. At the C$0.10 minimum stake that is C$500; at the C$250 maximum it is C$1,250,000.

In the base game, the fisherman wild does not appear: it is a free spins symbol only. Wins come from matching symbols along the 10 lines. The pays below are multiples of the total bet, read from the demo paytable.

The truck is the only symbol that pays for two in a row. Fish pay as ordinary line symbols in the base game; their cash values only count in free spins, when a fisherman lands to collect them.

The feature that makes the base game more than a waiting room is the scatter assist. When two bass scatters land, the game can trigger a respin or send a hook to pull in a third scatter, which starts free spins. It does not happen every time two scatters show, but it gives near misses a second chance.

Three, four or five scatters award 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively.

Bonus buy and the numbers in dollars

The buy feature costs 100x the stake and triggers free spins with three to five scatters on the trigger spin. Here is how the published figures translate at the stake limits shown in the demo:

The RTP of the buy is the same 96.71% as the base game, so buying does not change the expected return over the long run. What it changes is pace: you skip the base game, pay a large fixed amount, and take one bonus with a highly uncertain result. A single bought bonus can pay back well under its cost.

Two practical limits apply in Canada. First, the buy is not shown everywhere. In the demo, the UK version of the game hides the bonus buy, while the international version shows it; we have not been able to confirm which version Canadian casinos serve. Free spins: collecting fish and climbing the levels

The bonus begins before the first free spin. A modifier stage can award from zero to five boosts, chosen from this list:

• more fish symbols on the reels;
• more fishermen;
• more dynamite, hook and bazooka features;
• starting at level 2 (a higher collect multiplier from the first spin);
• two extra spins.

Then the round plays out. Each fisherman wild that lands collects the value of every fish on screen. Wilds are also counted: every fourth one collected adds 10 more spins and raises the collect multiplier, first to 2x, then 3x, then 10x. At the 10x level, every fish value a fisherman collects counts ten times over.

On random spins, three extra features can step in. Dynamite adds fish to the reels, the hook pulls fishermen onto the grid, and the bazooka changes the symbols on screen. All three push the reels toward fish and fishermen landing together.

The weak point of the design is just as clear. Fish without a fisherman pay nothing extra, and a fisherman with no fish collects nothing. Free spins can end with little to show if the two rarely land together, while a round that climbs the levels can pay many times more. Medium volatility reflects that mix.
