Verdict
Spribe's Mines is a clean, quick game with a 97% RTP and real control over risk, through the mine count, cash-out timing and Auto Play's stop-loss. It has no bonus features and no published volatility, the CA$10,000 cap matters far more than the 5,044,291x headline, and many lobbies carry other studios' Mines games under the same name, so check the studio first.
Best for: Players who want short rounds, a high published RTP and full control over how much risk each round carries.
Skip if: You want bonus rounds and free spins, or a win ceiling that is not capped at CA$10,000 per bet.

Mines is an instant game from Spribe, the studio behind Aviator. A round takes place on a 5x5 grid of hidden tiles. Before you start, you choose how many of them hide mines. Every star you uncover raises the payout multiplier, you can cash out after any pick, and uncovering a mine ends the round with the stake lost.
Spribe publishes a 97% RTP and a maximum winning multiplier of 5,044,291x in its game rules, while the demo caps any single win at CA$10,000. Many studios sell a game called Mines, so this page first makes clear which version it covers, then explains the maths, the free demo and where Canadians can find a Mines online casino that lists Spribe.

Mines casino / Mines game: which version is this?
"Mines" is a format more than a single title. Several studios make one, and casinos sometimes build their own. The name on the tile does not tell you whose maths you are playing.
| Version | Studio | Published RTP | Published top multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mines (this page) | Spribe | 97% | 5,044,291x |
| Mines (2021) | Turbo Games | 95% | 456,660x |
| Turbo Mines, Book of Mines, 1Tap Mines | Turbo Games | Not covered here | Not covered here |
| Stake Mines | Stake (in-house) | Not covered here | Not covered here |
The two-point RTP gap between Spribe's and Turbo Games' versions is worth knowing. To tell them apart in a lobby, look for the studio name on the tile or in the game's info screen. One trap: Spribe's own game server sits at an address containing the word "turbo", which has nothing to do with the studio Turbo Games.
A note on the Mines+ casino tiles you may come across: Spribe does not list a game called Mines+ on its game page, so anything under that name is either a different studio's product or a casino's own label. Check the info screen for the studio and RTP before staking. There is also a title called Mines Supreme whose studio we could not confirm.
Casinos
Where to play Mines
How we know: a casino is listed when its published provider list includes Spribe; "seen" means the title was in its own top-games row on that date.
Where to play Mines in Canada
Any casino with a Spribe deal can offer Mines. Casinos whose published provider lists include Spribe in our listings include:
- Betnova Casino - its Ontario site, registered with the AGCO, lists Spribe in its casino filters (checked 23 October 2026). The Alberta site is run by a separate company.
- Spin Casino - its Canadian homepage named Spribe among its providers in a capture of 5 September 2026. The brand also runs Ontario and Alberta sites, whose lobbies can differ.
- PickWin, Yeet Casino, MoonWin Casino and N1 Casino - offshore sites listing Spribe, checked in late October 2026.
We also have dated sightings of a game called Mines at Betify (23 October 2026) and Casinozer (28 October 2026), but neither names the studio, and neither lists Spribe in the provider data we hold. Treat those as "a Mines game", not necessarily this one.
Province rules decide which of these you can use legally. Ontario: AGCO-registered sites with an iGaming Ontario agreement. Alberta: AGLC-registered sites with an AiGC agreement, live since 13 July 2026. Other provinces: the provincially run site; offshore casinos are not licensed by any province. The minimum age is 19, except in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, where it is 18. Our legal online casinos page has the details.

How Mines plays
Base game and bonus features as the provider's rules describe them.
- Adjustable mine count Number of mines chosen from a dropdown, changes odds and multiplier
- Cash out after each pick Take the current win after any revealed star
- Pick randomly Reveals a random tile
- Auto Play Auto game with stop-loss / stop-win limits
- Provably fair Provably fair settings in the game menu
Slots, Mines and instant games: where it fits
Mines has no reels, no paylines and no bonus round, so it is not a slot. As a mines betting game, it belongs to the instant games: single-player rounds that settle in seconds, with you deciding when to stop.
A round works like this:
- Set your stake and choose the number of mines from the dropdown. More mines means fewer safe tiles and a faster-rising multiplier.
- Click a tile. A star means you survive and the multiplier rises. A mine ends the round.
- After any star, take the current win or keep picking.
Three tools change how you play rather than the odds. Pick randomly reveals a tile for you; the rules do not say it changes the odds against choosing one yourself. Auto Play repeats rounds with preset settings and lets you set a stop-loss and a stop-win, so a session ends on its own at a limit you chose in advance. Provably fair settings sit in the game menu. A provably fair system is designed to let a player check afterwards that a round's result was fixed before it began.
That last point is the honest answer to the most common question about Mines: the game gives you a way to check its rounds rather than asking you to take them on trust. There is also no pattern to find. Each tile you pick is simply one of the remaining tiles, and the more mines you set, the fewer of them are safe. If you like the format, Chicken Road applies the same stop-or-continue idea to a road with lanes instead of a grid.
Maths
RTP and volatility in dollars
Over a very long run, Mines is set to pay back about C$97.00 of every C$100 wagered; the house keeps about C$3.00. At C$1 a spin, 500 spins means C$500 wagered and an expected cost of about C$15.00 - real sessions land far above or below that.
Mines game casino real money limits
The demo's Game Limits panel sets the stake at CA$0.10 to CA$100 per round and caps any single win at CA$10,000. Casinos can set their own limits, so read the panel inside the game at your casino before you play for money.
The maximum winning odds in Spribe's rules are 5,044,291x. That figure is a property of the game's maths (the multiplier for the rarest possible outcome), but it is not what you could actually be paid. The cap decides that. Using the published numbers:
| Stake | Multiplier at which the CA$10,000 cap is reached |
|---|---|
| CA$100 (maximum) | 100x |
| CA$0.10 (minimum) | 100,000x |
So even at the minimum stake, the cap arrives long before the theoretical top multiplier. At the maximum stake, any outcome above 100x pays the same CA$10,000. If you play with high mine counts, where the multiplier climbs quickly, it is worth knowing that a lower stake leaves more room before the cap.
Bonus money is another limit. Some casinos count instant games for very little towards wagering: for example, the rules at DudeSpin Casino (archived February 2026) count Mines at 10%, meaning only a tenth of each stake counts towards a wagering requirement. Check the game contribution table of any bonus before you use it on Mines, and see our wagering calculator for the full sum.

If you like Mines, try these
Spribe's catalogue is built around short, decision-driven games, and two others have pages here:
- Aviator - Spribe's crash game, in which one multiplier climbs for every player in the round and you take your win before it stops. Published RTP 97%, the same as Mines.
- Plinko - a ball dropped through pegs into a payout slot. Our Plinko page covers BGaming's version, with a published 99% RTP.
Outside Spribe, Chicken Road by InOut Games is the closest match: single-player, cash out after any step, and a difficulty setting that plays the same role as the mine count. Its published RTP is 98%. Crash games such as Spaceman and JetX offer a similar cash-out decision, but against a clock rather than a grid.
The key difference between Mines and those crash games is pace. In Mines nothing happens until you click, so you can take as long as you like over each decision. In a crash round the multiplier keeps moving, and hesitation can cost you the win.
All of these games have a house edge, and none of them rewards a system. Pick the format whose pace suits you, set a budget first, and treat any win as a bonus rather than a plan.
Mines casino game strategy: what the maths allows
Every Mines casino game strategy runs into the same wall: the RTP. Spribe sets it at 97%, so over a very large number of rounds the game returns 97% of all stakes and keeps 3%. Spribe publishes that one figure, with no separate RTP per mine count. No pick order, tile pattern or betting system changes that.
What you can control is the shape of your session:
- Mine count sets the risk per pick. With few mines, most picks are safe and the multiplier climbs slowly. With many, each pick is a long shot and the multiplier jumps.
- Cash-out timing sets the size of a win. Stopping after one or two stars means frequent small wins and fewer losing rounds. Pushing on means rarer, larger wins.
- Stop-loss and stop-win limits set when you walk away. Auto Play can enforce both, which is the most useful tool in the game for anyone worried about chasing losses.
Avoid the classic traps. Doubling the stake after a loss (often called a Martingale) does not beat a game with a house edge; it just makes the eventual losing run more expensive, and the CA$100 maximum stake in the demo limits how far it could go anyway. A run of safe picks also says nothing about the next tile.
The game's real appeal is control: you decide exactly how much risk each round carries. If you want to understand why the same RTP can feel gentle or brutal depending on those choices, our volatility guide covers it, and the responsible gambling page lists the tools casinos offer.
Spribe Mines demo and free play
The Spribe Mines demo runs from Spribe's own demo server, in Canadian dollars, with a CA$50,000 play-money balance labelled FUN MODE. On our 22 October 2026 check it rendered with the full grid, mine selector and limits panel, though one of three loads stuck on "connecting...". Spribe's demo server has shown the same hiccup with Aviator.
A Mines casino demo, if a casino shows one next to the real-money button, should be the same game in play-money mode. Whether a particular casino offers it is the casino's choice. Trying the Mines casino game free pays nothing, but it is the cheapest way to see how fast the multiplier rises with, say, three mines compared with ten.
On downloads: you do not need a Mines game casino download to play. The demo runs in a browser from Spribe's server, and the real-money game sits in a casino's lobby, or in that casino's app where one exists. Many other games share the name, so the safer route is the lobby of a casino you already know. See our casino apps page for which Canadian-facing casinos publish apps.
If you want a Mines game casino free session with no sign-up at all, the provider demo is the place. For other free demos, try our free slots page.
Mines questions
Spribe's Mines has provably fair settings in the game menu. A provably fair system is designed to let you check after a round that its result was fixed before it began. The 97% RTP still means the house keeps 3% over time. No pattern or pick order changes the odds of the next tile.
The rules list maximum winning odds of 5,044,291x, but the demo caps any single win at CA$10,000, and casinos set their own limits. At the CA$100 maximum stake, any result above 100x pays the same CA$10,000.
Only on a site registered with the AGCO that has an iGaming Ontario agreement. Betnova's AGCO-registered Ontario site lists Spribe among its casino providers, but check the Mines tile and its studio name in the lobby you log in to before playing.
Spribe publishes a single RTP of 97% for the game, with no separate figure per setting. The mine count changes how risky each pick is and how fast the multiplier rises, not the published long-run return.
No. Spribe's Mines publishes a 97% RTP; Turbo Games' Mines from 2021 publishes 95% and a top multiplier of 456,660x. Casinos also run their own versions. Check the studio name in the game's info screen.
Often, but it may count for little. DudeSpin Casino's rules, archived in February 2026, count Mines at 10% towards wagering, so clearing a bonus there takes ten times as much play. Read the game contribution table of any bonus first.
