Verdict
Money Train 3 has a very deep bonus round: collectors, snipers, payers, a necromancer, persistent gold specials and column unlocks, all with a 100,000x cap. Relax calls it high volatility, and the RTP can be 96.10%, 94.00% or 90.00% depending on the version. Learn the specials in the demo before you play it for money.
Best for: Players who enjoy a complex hold-and-respin bonus and can live with long waits for it.
Skip if: You prefer simple rules or steady base-game wins - nearly all the value sits in the bonus round.

What we like
- Top prize of 100,000x the stake
- Persistent gold specials act at the end of every bonus spin
- Grid can grow from five to seven columns during the bonus
- Four buy options from 20x to 500x the bet
Watch out for
- Lower RTP versions of 94.00% and 90.00% exist
- High volatility by Relax Gaming's own description
- Demo runs in play currency only, not in C$
Money Train 3 is the Relax Gaming slot that turned a bonus round into a puzzle box. The base game is a 5x4 grid with 40 fixed lines, but nearly everything that matters happens in the Money Cart Bonus Round, where bonus symbols lock in place, gold specials act on every spin and the grid can grow by two columns.
Relax launched it in September 2022 as its biggest release of that year and described it as high volatility. The top prize is 100,000 times the stake. This page explains how the base game feeds the bonus, what each family of special symbols does, how the four buy options differ in price, which RTP versions exist, and where Canadians can look for it. The free demo at the top runs in play currency.

Money Train 3 on the base reels
The base game is the quiet part of Money Train 3. Five reels, four rows and 40 fixed paylines carry the regular symbols, and a Wild substitutes for every other symbol. Line wins exist, but the base game's real job is to deliver the bonus.
Two things can happen on a base spin besides a line win:
- Bonus symbols land. Three or more start the Money Cart Bonus Round, explained below.
- The Respin Feature triggers. It can start at random after a spin with no win.
Relax publishes a bet range of EUR 0.10 to EUR 10. The demo offers 0.10 to 5.00 in play currency. Casinos set their own real-money limits, so check the range in the game at your casino.
The headline numbers, from the specials to the 100,000x cap, all belong to the bonus round, so plan the stake around the wait for it rather than around the line pays. Other studios' games built this way are on our hold and win slots list, and more from this studio is on our Relax Gaming page.
Casinos
Where to play Money Train 3
How we know: a casino is listed when its published provider list includes Relax Gaming; "seen" means the title was in its own top-games row on that date.
Where to look for Money Train 3 in Canada
The casinos listed above publish Relax Gaming among their providers. Among the casinos we cover, that includes Rainbet Casino, PlayOJO Casino, Casino Days, Wildz Casino and Lucky Days Casino; for PlayOJO, Casino Days and Lucky Days that also covers at least one of their provincially regulated sites. A provider listing means the studio's games are offered, not that this title is in the lobby today, so search for it by name before you deposit.
Your province decides which sites are legal for you:
- Ontario: sites registered with the AGCO and holding an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.
- Alberta: sites registered with the AGLC under an AiGC agreement, live since 13 July 2026.
- Other provinces: the province's own site. Offshore casinos hold no provincial licence.
Real-money play is 19+, or 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Our legal online casinos page explains each route.
When you find the game, check two things in its rules before you spin: the RTP version, and whether the buy options are available at that casino.
Features
How Money Train 3 plays
Base game and bonus features as the provider's rules describe them.
- Money Cart Bonus Round 3+ Bonus symbols trigger it; starts with 3 spins, each new symbol resets the count to 3
- Respin Feature random after a non-winning spin; one symbol locks and re-spins with +1x/+2x/+3x multiplier symbols
- Persistent symbols gold specials that act at the end of every bonus spin
- Column unlock filling a column opens a new one, up to two extra columns
- Buy Feature four options from 20x to 500x the bet, base game only
- Win cap the bonus ends and pays 100,000x if the total reaches it
| Symbol | Pays |
|---|---|
| Bonus symbol | Reveals a value from 1x to 10x bet |
| Collector | Collects all visible values and adds them to its own |
| Sniper | Doubles the values of 3 to 8 other bonus symbols |
| Collector-Payer | Takes 3 to 5 targets, adds their values to its own, then pays the new value to each target |
| Necromancer | Revives 2 to 7 used non-persistent special symbols |
| Absorber | Absorbs all normal Bonus symbols and their values |
| Tommy Gun Sniper | Doubles one random symbol 2 to 6 times |
| Tommy Gun Payer | Reveals 5x to 100x and adds it to one random symbol 3 to 10 times |
| Persistent Collector / Sniper / Collector-Payer / Necromancer | Same action, repeated every spin |
| Persistent Shapeshifter | Turns into a different special after every spin |
| Wild | Substitutes for all other symbols |
The Respin Feature: a second chance after a dead spin
After a base spin that pays nothing, the Respin Feature can trigger at random. One symbol locks in place, and the reels spin again with extra multiplier symbols in the mix: +1x, +2x and +3x.
The aim is to build a win around the locked symbol from a spin that would otherwise have paid nothing, with the multiplier symbols adding to it.
It is worth knowing what this feature is and what it is not:
- It is a base-game bonus that softens dead spins.
- It is random. Nothing you do triggers it, and its frequency is not published.
- It is separate from the Money Cart round, which has its own trigger.
Watching a few respins in the demo is a good way to read the base game's rhythm before you decide on a stake. Keep in mind that a respin is a consolation, not a shortcut: the multipliers on offer are +1x to +3x, small next to what the specials in the bonus can do.
Money Cart Bonus Round: how the round runs
Three or more Bonus symbols start the Money Cart Bonus Round. The round begins with three spins. Every new symbol that lands resets the count to three, so the round keeps going for as long as new symbols keep arriving.
Every normal Bonus symbol reveals a value between 1x and 10x the bet. On their own these are small; the round becomes interesting when special symbols act on them, and when the grid grows.
Column unlocks
The bonus grid starts five columns wide. Filling a column completely opens a new column next to it, up to two extra columns. A seven-column grid has more room for specials and more targets for them to act on, which is why the unlocks matter.
Persistent symbols
Gold versions of the specials are persistent. Instead of acting once, they act at the end of every bonus spin for the rest of the round. A persistent Collector keeps collecting, a persistent Sniper keeps doubling, and so on. One persistent special landing early can shape the whole round.
The cap
If the total reaches 100,000 times the bet, the bonus ends there and pays that amount.
The special symbols, grouped by what they do
The symbol table above lists every special. They are easier to follow in four groups:
- Collectors. The Collector adds up all visible values and adds them to its own. The Absorber absorbs every normal Bonus symbol and its value. The Collector-Payer takes three to five targets, adds their values to its own, then pays its new value back to each target.
- Multipliers. The Sniper doubles the values of three to eight other bonus symbols. The Tommy Gun Sniper doubles one random symbol, two to six times.
- Payers. The Tommy Gun Payer reveals 5x to 100x and adds it to one random symbol, three to ten times.
- Revivers and changers. The Necromancer revives two to seven used, non-persistent specials so they act again. The Persistent Shapeshifter turns into a different special after every spin.
Several of these act on values that other specials have already changed, and persistent versions repeat every spin. That interplay is the appeal of the game, and it is also why one bonus can look nothing like the next.
The demo is the best place to watch these interactions without risk.
Maths
RTP and volatility in dollars
Over a very long run, Money Train 3 is set to pay back about C$96.10 of every C$100 wagered; the house keeps about C$3.90. At C$1 a spin, 500 spins means C$500 wagered and an expected cost of about C$19.50 - real sessions land far above or below that.
The same game also exists at 94.00%, 90.00%. A lower version costs more per C$100 wagered, and the casino - not you - picks which one runs.
High volatility: long dry spells are normal; most of the return sits in rare big features. The cap is 100,000x: C$100,000 on a C$1 spin.
Four ways to buy in, from 20x to 500x
The Buy Feature offers four options, available in the base game only:
| Option | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 Spin | 20x bet |
| 2 Spin | 50x bet |
| Original | 100x bet |
| Persistent | 500x bet |
The in-game rules explain what each option contains; read them before buying, because the four are not simply the same round at different prices. The Persistent option at 500x is the most expensive way in.
In the demo's configuration the buy RTP is 96.5%, slightly above the default 96.10% for normal play. Over the long run, buying in that version is not the more expensive route, but it concentrates the risk: one purchase is one large stake on one outcome, and a round can pay well below its price.
At Relax's published maximum of EUR 10 a spin, the 500x option costs EUR 5,000. Size any purchase to your budget, not to the size of the top prize. Our bonus buy slots page lists other games that sell their features.
Money Train 3 RTP: three published versions
Relax Gaming's product page lists three RTP figures for this game:
| Version | House keeps per C$100 wagered over time |
|---|---|
| 96.10% (default) | about C$3.90 |
| 94.00% (alternative) | about C$6.00 |
| 90.00% (German market) | about C$10.00 |
The 90.00% version is listed for Germany. A casino can choose the 94.00% alternative instead of the default, and you cannot change the version from your side.
RTP describes a very long run. On a high-volatility game like this, a single session can end far above or far below it, and the difference between versions only shows over many sessions. It still matters: over time the alternative version costs about half as much again as the default.
Before playing for money, open the game's rules at your casino and read the theoretical return. Our RTP versions guide explains where to find it and why one title can exist at several settings. If the figure is missing from the rules, ask the casino's support before you deposit.

Money Train 3 and its sequel compared
The series runs from Money Train 2 to Money Train 5, with Money Cart 2 as a sister game. The fourth instalment has its own page here, and the figures show how Relax changed the formula a year later:
| Money Train 3 | Money Train 4 | |
|---|---|---|
| Released | Sep 2022 | Sep 2023 |
| Default RTP | 96.10% | 96.10% |
| Base game | 5x4, 40 fixed lines | 6x6, scatter pays |
| Bonus grid growth | Up to 2 extra columns | Up to 4 more rows |
| Max win | 100,000x | 150,000x |
| Published bet range | EUR 0.10 - EUR 10 | EUR 0.10 - EUR 6 |
Money Train 3 keeps the lines-based base game; the fourth switches to scatter pays and grows its bonus grid upwards rather than sideways. If you like a classic reel layout feeding a complex bonus, the third is the one to try first. If you want the larger cap and a grid that pays anywhere, the fourth is the step up. Both have a free demo, so comparing them costs nothing.
High volatility and the 100,000x ceiling
Relax Gaming's launch announcement in September 2022 described Money Train 3 as high volatility. That fits the design described above: the outcome of each bonus depends on which specials land and what they act on.
The cap is 100,000 times the stake, written into the rules: if a bonus reaches it, the round ends and pays that amount. At the EUR 0.10 minimum that is EUR 10,000. It is a ceiling that is rare by design, not an expected result.
What this profile means in practice:
- Long gaps between bonuses are normal, and the Respin Feature only softens them.
- A bonus can pay very little. A short round with few specials may return less than a single buy would cost.
- Budget for the wait. A lower stake lasts longer and gives more chances to reach the bonus.
Our volatility guide and max-win odds page explain what a big headline cap and a high volatility rating mean together. Limits and tools are on our responsible gambling page.
Money Train 3 free play: what the demo shows
The demo at the top of this page is Relax Gaming's own. It starts with an intro video, then loads the full game with a play-money balance. The balance is shown in Relax's play currency, not in Canadian dollars, and the bet range in the demo runs from 0.10 to 5.00 in that currency.
The demo carries the game's rules, the bonus round, the special symbols and the buy options, which makes money train 3 free play the best way to understand the bonus before you spend anything. Real-money bet limits and the RTP version are set by each casino. To play money train 3 free, press the demo button; no account, deposit or download is needed, and nothing won can be withdrawn.
Things worth watching in the demo:
- How often the Respin Feature fires after a dead spin.
- How long the base game runs between Money Cart triggers.
- How the order of specials changes a bonus total.
- What a 20x buy delivers compared with the 100x Original buy.
The demo is as random as real play, so a good run predicts nothing. More demos are on our free slots page.
Money Train 3 questions
Yes. The demo on this page is Relax Gaming's own and uses a play-money balance in Relax's play currency rather than Canadian dollars. No account, deposit or download is needed. Nothing won in the demo can be withdrawn.
The default is 96.10%. Relax Gaming also lists an alternative version at 94.00% and a German version at 90.00%. The casino chooses which one it runs, so check the theoretical return in the game's rules at your casino before you play for money.
The cap is 100,000 times the stake. If a bonus round reaches it, the round ends and pays that amount. At the EUR 0.10 minimum Relax publishes, that is EUR 10,000. The cap is rare by design.
Land three or more Bonus symbols in the base game to start the Money Cart Bonus Round. It begins with three spins, and every new symbol resets the count to three. You can also buy into it from the base game, with options from 20x to 500x the bet.
Persistent specials are the gold versions of symbols like the Collector, Sniper, Collector-Payer and Necromancer. Instead of acting once, they repeat their action at the end of every bonus spin for the rest of the round. The Persistent Shapeshifter turns into a different special after each spin.
