Verdict
An inventive mix of reels and a Plinko bonus that can scale from a single ball to 256 balls per drop, with a firm 10,000x cap and a working free demo. The score is held back by the RTP: 96.48% in the game's rules, 93.48% on the studio's own page, and lower builds exist, so you must check the figure at your casino.
Best for: Players who like a bonus that builds in visible stages rather than a single free-spins multiplier.
Skip if: You will not check the RTP screen before playing - lower builds of this game exist.

What we like
- Plinko bonus with a stage meter that doubles the balls per drop, up to 256
- Starting drops set by the numbers on the scatters, so every trigger looks different
- Clear 10,000x win cap per round, stated in the rules
- Free demo from Relax Gaming that loads with play money
Watch out for
- RTP published as 96.48% in the game but 93.48% on the studio's site
- Lower-RTP builds are listed, with no figure published for them
- Bonus buy at 79x is offered only in some markets
Pine of Plinko is a normal five-reel, ten-line slot until three scatters land. Then the screen becomes a Plinko board: balls drop through pegs into 15 gaps, each paying a multiplier of the stake, and a meter in the middle can double the number of balls in every drop.
Print Studios made it, and Relax Gaming released it through its Silver Bullet programme on 31 January 2023. The game caps every round at 10,000x the bet. There is one figure to treat with care: the RTP. The game's own rules say 96.48%, the studio's website prints 93.48%, and Relax lists lower-RTP builds. We explain what that means, how the bonus grows, and where you can look for it in Canada.

Reels first, then a Plinko board
The base game is simple on purpose. Five reels and three rows, ten fixed win lines, and a short paytable led by Piney, a gnome who pays 200x the bet when five land on a line. The other characters are named Santa, Sleepy and Miney, and three coloured gems fill the lower end. There are no wilds in the paytable, and apart from the optional Scatter Boost the only base-game feature is the scatter.
That scatter is a numbered ball. Three or more on the reels start the Plinko Bonus, and the numbers printed on them are added up to give your starting Drops. A trigger with low numbers gives a short bonus; higher numbers give a longer one, and you can read the count off the reels before the board even appears.
The studio behind it
Print Studios publishes through Relax Gaming's Silver Bullet programme, so its games are distributed by Relax. On the Relax product page the game appears under Print Studios, and there are related versions to be aware of:
- Pine of Plinko - Dream Drop, a separate build that adds Relax's Dream Drop progressive jackpots. The studio's own site links to this version's demo.
- Pine of Plinko 2, a sequel, with a third game listed as upcoming on the studio site.
- Pond of Plinko, a related title we cover on its own page.
When you search a lobby, make sure the tile says Pine of Plinko without "Dream Drop" or a number if you want the game described here.
Casinos
Where to play Pine of Plinko
How we know: a casino is listed when its published provider list includes Relax Gaming; "seen" means the title was in its own top-games row on that date.
Where to look for this Pine of Plinko casino game in Canada
The list above draws on casinos whose provider lists include Relax Gaming. A Print Studios game reaches casinos through Relax, but a provider list is not a title list, so search the lobby by name. If the search returns several tiles, the Dream Drop version and the sequels will carry their own names; open the info screen to confirm the game and its RTP before you place a bet.
A few points from the casinos' own published provider lists:
- Casino Days lists Relax for its offshore, Ontario and Alberta sites.
- PlayOJO lists Relax for its offshore, Ontario and Alberta sites.
- BetMGM lists Relax on its Ontario slots page.
- CrazyBet names Print Studios itself on its offshore site.
Provincial rules
Your province decides which sites are legal. Ontario's regulated sites hold an AGCO registration plus an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. Since 13 July 2026 Alberta has its own system: the AGLC registers each operator and the operator signs an agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC). Everywhere else, the government-run provincial site is the regulated route, and an offshore casino holds no provincial licence at all. Players must be 19, except in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, where the age is 18.

How the Pine of Plinko bonus builds
Every Drop releases balls from the top of the board. Each ball bounces down and lands in one of 15 gaps at the bottom, and every gap pays a multiplier of the stake, from 0.1x at the low end up to 1,000x per ball. One drop is therefore a small set of independent results added together.
The stage meter is what makes the round grow. Balls that hit the centre bumpers fill it. When it is full, you move to the next stage:
- You receive 10 extra Drops.
- The number of balls released per drop doubles.
Doubling adds up fast: one ball becomes 2, 4, 8 and so on, up to 256 balls per drop at the top stage. A drop late in the round can carry many times the balls of the first one, so the Drops you earn after a stage-up are worth more than the ones you started with.
Where the cap comes in
All this is bounded by a hard limit of 10,000x the bet per game round. Wins in a round cannot go past that figure. The 1,000x gap is the single largest result one ball can land, and even with 256 balls in play the round cannot pay past the cap.
Relax does not publish how often each gap is hit or how often the meter fills, so there is no way to say from the rules what an average bonus pays. The free demo is the best way to get a feel for it.
What the reels pay between bonuses
The bonus gets the attention, but the base Pine of Plinko game is where most spins happen, so the paytable is worth a look. All figures are multiples of the total bet for a line of five, four or three, taken from the demo's paytable.
| Symbol | 5 on a line | 4 on a line | 3 on a line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Piney | 200x | 10x | 2x |
| Santa | 50x | 4x | 1.2x |
| Sleepy | 20x | 2x | 1x |
| Miney | 10x | 1x | 0.6x |
| Orange gem | 3x | 0.6x | 0.3x |
The green and purple gems pay the same as each other, just below the orange one. Two things stand out. First, the drop from five to four of a kind is steep: Piney pays 20 times more for five than for four. Second, four of the seven symbols pay less than the bet for three of a kind. Line wins are modest next to the board, where a single ball can land in a 1,000x gap.
Scatter Boost and the 79x buy
Two optional extras change the cost of play. Neither is required, and one may not be offered at your casino at all.
| Option | What it does | Cost | RTP in the rules |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular spin | Standard game | The bet | 96.48% |
| Scatter Boost | More scatters land on the reels | The bet plus 75% | 96.78% |
| Bonus Buy | Starts the Plinko Bonus straight away | 79x the regular bet | 96.94% |
On these figures, both extras return slightly more than a plain spin over a very long run. They also cost more per decision, which means a faster drain on your balance in a short session. The Bonus Buy is marked as available in some markets only, so if the button is missing, the likely reason is that your casino's market does not offer it.
Relax publishes the bet range in euros, from EUR 0.20 to EUR 100. Your casino may show its own currency and set its own limits. If you are thinking of buying the bonus with bonus funds, read the terms first; our bonus buy page explains what to look for, and the wagering calculator shows what a bonus really asks of you.
Maths
RTP and volatility in dollars
Over a very long run, Pine of Plinko is set to pay back about C$96.48 of every C$100 wagered; the house keeps about C$3.52. At C$1 a spin, 500 spins means C$500 wagered and an expected cost of about C$17.60 - real sessions land far above or below that.
The same game also exists at 96.78%, 96.94%, 93.48%. A lower version costs more per C$100 wagered, and the casino - not you - picks which one runs.
High volatility: long dry spells are normal; most of the return sits in rare big features. The cap is 10,000x: C$10,000 on a C$1 spin.
Why the RTP needs checking at your casino
Two of the provider's own sources disagree on the main figure:
- The in-game rules and the demo's configuration both say 96.48% for the build tested on 29 October 2026.
- The Print Studios game page prints 93.48%.
- Relax lists extra game versions, including one with a 94 in its name and a German build with 86, which points to lower-RTP builds. No RTP is published for them.
We show 96.48% because it is the figure in the game's own rules. The difference is easy to see in the house edge. At 96.48%, the long-run cost is 3.52% of everything wagered; at 93.48%, it is 6.52%, nearly twice as much. Neither number tells you what will happen in one session, but over many sessions the version you play matters.
How to check
Open the game at your casino, go to the rules or info screen and look for the theoretical return. If it says 96.48%, you have the build described here. If it shows a lower figure, you are on a different version, and the bonus maths above still applies but the long-run cost is higher. Our guide to RTP versions explains why casinos can pick between builds.

Is it worth your time?
If you enjoy watching a bonus build, yes. The stage meter gives the round a clear sense of progress, and the scatter numbers make every trigger different. The 10,000x cap is ten times the best single gap, so the round's ceiling depends on many balls landing well together, and the paytable is short enough to learn in a minute.
It is less suited to players who want constant action. The base game has no wilds or side features, so between bonuses you are spinning ten lines of characters and gems. The studio rates its volatility 4 out of 5 on its own scale, towards the high end.
If Plinko itself is what draws you, compare it with our pages on Plinko and Plinko Rush, each with its own rules and figures. For more from the provider, see the Relax Gaming page, and for other games rated towards the high end for volatility, browse our high volatility slots.
Trying the Pine of Plinko demo
The demo comes from Relax Gaming's own launcher. It opens with a 5,000 FUN balance and a default bet of 1.00 FUN, and the rules screen shows version 1.2.1 of the game. FUN is play money, not dollars, and it cannot be cashed out.
A few things worth watching in a demo session:
- What numbers appear on the scatter balls, and how many Drops a typical trigger gives.
- How often the centre bumpers are hit, and how many Drops it takes to fill the meter.
- How many balls land in the low gaps compared with the high ones.
Treat what you see as a sample, not a forecast. Slots carry a house edge, and the demo cannot tell you which RTP build a casino runs. Before playing for real, set a deposit and time limit; our responsible gambling page points to Canadian support services and the limits you can set.
Pine of Plinko questions
The game's own rules give 96.48% for the regular game, 96.78% with Scatter Boost and 96.94% for the Bonus Buy. The Print Studios website prints 93.48%, and Relax lists lower-RTP builds without publishing their figures. Check the info screen at your casino to see which version you have.
Three or more scatter balls start it, and the numbers on them add up to your starting Drops. Each Drop releases balls into 15 gaps paying 0.1x to 1,000x the stake. Filling the stage meter adds 10 Drops and doubles the balls per drop, up to 256.
Yes. Relax Gaming's demo loads with 5,000 FUN in play money and a 1.00 FUN default bet, and includes the paytable and full rules. FUN credits have no cash value, and the demo does not show which RTP build a real casino runs.
The rules cap every game round at 10,000x the bet. A single ball can land in the 1,000x gap at most, but with up to 256 balls per drop in the later stages, several balls together can take the round to the cap.
No. The Dream Drop version is a separate build that adds Relax Gaming's Dream Drop progressive jackpots. The studio's website links to that version's demo. The game described on this page is the plain version from the Relax product page.
In some markets. The Bonus Buy starts the Plinko Bonus for 79x the regular bet and has an RTP of 96.94% in the rules. Relax marks it as available only in some markets, so your casino may not show the option.
