Verdict
Bigger Bass Splash is a well-built step up from the 5x3 Big Bass games: a fourth row, 12 lines, pre-bonus modifiers and fish worth up to 5,000x. The RTP is 96.50% in every mode, and the game labels itself Medium volatility. The 5,000x cap is the same as Big Bass Splash, so the upgrade is in how the round plays rather than in the ceiling.
Best for: Big Bass fans who want more going on in the free spins without moving to a High volatility version.
Skip if: You want a cap above 5,000x - Big Bass Splash 1000 goes to 25,000x.

What we like
- 96.50% RTP in the base game, with the Ante Bet and with both buys
- Up to five modifiers can boost a round before it starts
- Fish values up to 5,000x the base bet
- Low C$0.10 minimum stake
Watch out for
- Cap of 5,000x, the same as the older Big Bass Splash
- Money symbols only pay out in free spins
- Provider web page reuses another game's description, so rely on the in-game rules
Bigger Bass Splash is the January 2025 entry in Reel Kingdom's long fishing series, released through Pragmatic Play. It keeps the formula players know: fish carry cash values, the fisherman wild collects them in free spins, and every fourth fisherman raises the multiplier. What it adds is a bigger board, five reels by four rows with 12 paylines, and a set of modifiers that can be awarded before the free spins begin.
This page explains how the bigger grid changes things, how you reach the bonus, what each modifier does, what the two buys cost at the C$0.10 minimum, and how this game compares with the other Big Bass titles on our site. All figures come from the game's own rules, which matters here for a reason explained further down.

What the bigger board changes
Big Bass Bonanza and Big Bass Splash use five reels and three rows. Bigger Bass Splash adds a fourth row and goes from 10 to 12 paylines. More positions mean more room for fish symbols to land, and more places for the fisherman wild to appear in the free spins.
The paytable, in multiples of the total bet:
- Speedboat: the top symbol, and the only one that pays for two of a kind: 0.5x for two, 5x for three, 20x for four and 200x for five.
- Fishing rod: 3x, 15x and 100x for three, four and five.
- Fishing lure and cooler box: 2x, 10x and 50x each.
- A and K: 0.2x, 2.5x and 10x. Q, J and 10: 0.2x, 1x and 5x.
The fish is both a paying symbol and a money symbol. Three pay 1x and four pay 5x; five pay the total money value shown on screen. Apart from that five-of-a-kind case, the cash values on the fish are won in the free spins, when a fisherman lands to collect them.
The game is made by Reel Kingdom and distributed by Pragmatic Play; the in-game footer says Reel Kingdom. More titles from the distributor are on our Pragmatic Play page.
Casinos
Where to play Bigger Bass Splash
How we know: a casino is listed when its published provider list includes Pragmatic Play; "seen" means the title was in its own top-games row on that date.
Where to play Bigger Bass Splash
The list above shows casinos that name Pragmatic Play among their providers. Among the casinos we cover, that includes Stake Casino, LeoVegas Casino, Casino Days and Wildz Casino among offshore sites, the Alberta sites of BetMGM Casino and TonyBet Casino, and OLG in Ontario. None of the casinos we cover had this exact title in its top-games row when we checked, so search the lobby by name.
The licence that applies to you depends on where you live. Ontario regulates through the AGCO and iGaming Ontario. Alberta's regulated sites, registered with the AGLC under an AiGC agreement, have been live since 13 July 2026. Other provinces run their own site, and offshore casinos are not licensed by any province. Real-money play is 19+, or 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Our legal online casinos page sets out the options.
At the casino, check the RTP in the game's info screen and whether the buy options are available. Both can vary by casino.

Getting to the free spins
Three, four or five fish scatters award 10, 15 or 20 free spins. Because the round is where the money symbols pay, the trigger is the moment the whole game is built around, and Bigger Bass Splash gives you three ways to improve your chances of getting there.
Scatter assist
When two scatters land in the base game, the game can step in: a respin or a hook can bring a third scatter onto the reels and start the round. It can, not must: some near-misses become triggers, others stay near-misses.
Ante Bet
The Ante Bet raises the stake to 1.5 times the base bet and gives a higher natural chance of free spins. At the C$0.10 minimum that is C$0.15 a spin; at the C$250 base maximum it is C$375. The RTP stays at 96.50% with it on. While it is active, the buy option is switched off.
Buying the round
The third route is to skip the wait entirely and buy the free spins, covered below.
The game sets the odds, not the player. Neither the Ante Bet nor scatter assist changes the long-run return; the Ante Bet trades a higher cost per spin for more frequent triggers.
Modifiers: the round can be boosted before it starts
This is the feature that most separates Bigger Bass Splash from the older games. Before the free spins begin, the game awards between zero and five modifiers. Each one changes the round in a specific way:
- More fish: more money symbols on the reels during the round.
- More fishermen: more wilds to collect those values.
- More dynamite, hook and wipeout features: the random free-spin events, explained in the next section, become more frequent.
- Start at level 2: the round begins with the collect multiplier already raised.
- +2 spins: two extra free spins are added to the count.
Getting zero modifiers is possible, and the round then plays like a standard Big Bass bonus on a bigger board. Getting several improves the round's prospects, though a large result is never certain.
The Super Free Spins buy, covered further down, awards every modifier at once. That is what its higher price pays for.
If you are used to the 5x3 games, these modifiers are the new element to learn, and the demo is the right place to see them.
Fishermen, fish and the collect ladder
In the free spins, fish symbols carry cash values between 2x and 5,000x the base bet. The in-game rules list some of the large ones, including 1,666x, 2,500x and 5,000x. The fisherman is a wild that appears only in the free spins: it substitutes for every symbol except the scatter, and each fisherman that lands collects every fish value on screen.
Retriggers and multipliers
Every fourth fisherman collected adds 10 more spins and raises the collect multiplier. The ladder runs 2x, then 3x, then 10x. A round that reaches the top step pays ten times the value of every fish collected from then on.
Random free-spin features
Three random events can also fire during the round:
- Dynamite adds fish to the reels.
- Hook pulls fishermen onto the grid.
- Wipeout swaps the symbols on screen.
These are the features that the "more dynamite, hook and wipeout" modifier makes more frequent. Together with the ladder, they are what give each round its own shape. More games built on collecting values are on our hold and win slots list.
Maths
RTP and volatility in dollars
Over a very long run, Bigger Bass Splash is set to pay back about C$96.50 of every C$100 wagered; the house keeps about C$3.50. At C$1 a spin, 500 spins means C$500 wagered and an expected cost of about C$17.50 - real sessions land far above or below that.
The same game also exists at 96.50%, 96.50%, 96.50%. A lower version costs more per C$100 wagered, and the casino - not you - picks which one runs.
Medium volatility: a mix of small wins and occasional bigger features. The cap is 5,000x: C$5,000 on a C$1 spin.
Buy Free Spins or Super Free Spins
Two buy options skip the base game. Both guarantee three to five scatters on the trigger spin.
| Option | Price | Cost at C$0.10 | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy Free Spins | 100x bet | C$10 | The standard round, with the usual chance of modifiers |
| Buy Super Free Spins | 350x bet | C$35 | The round with all modifiers already awarded |
The game lists 96.50% for both buys, the same as normal play. So the long-run cost does not change; what changes is the risk. A buy places one large stake on one round, and a round can pay less than its price, even the Super version with every modifier on.
At the C$250 base maximum, the Super buy costs C$87,500. Set the stake with the buy price in mind before you press the button. The buy is unavailable while the Ante Bet is on.
One more practical point: the demo hides the buys when its server applies UK rules, and we could not confirm which version a Canadian visitor gets. If the buttons are missing in the demo, that is the likely reason. Our bonus buy slots page lists other games with this option.
RTP, volatility and the 5,000x ceiling
The game's rules give an RTP of 96.50% for the base game, the Ante Bet, Buy Free Spins and Buy Super Free Spins alike. Over a very long run that leaves a theoretical house edge of 3.50% of everything wagered. As always, the version your casino runs is the one that counts, so check the info screen. Our RTP versions guide shows how.
Volatility is labelled Medium in the game's own rules, on Pragmatic's three-step scale. That places it between the Low-rated Big Bass Bonanza and the High-rated Big Bass Splash 1000.
The top prize is 5,000 times the stake: C$500 on a C$0.10 spin. It matches the highest single fish value. Treat it as a ceiling, not a target.
Why we used the in-game rules
The description on the provider's web page for this game is a copy of the Big Bass Splash text, with only the RTP changed. Relying on it would describe the wrong game. Every feature and figure on this page comes from the game's own rules, read in the demo.
Our volatility guide explains what the Medium label means in practice.

Which Big Bass game to pick
The series is long, and four of its titles have pages here. The headline figures from each game's own rules:
| Game | Released | Grid and lines | RTP | Volatility | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Big Bass Bonanza | Dec 2020 | 5x3, 10 lines | 96.71% | Low | 2,100x |
| Big Bass Splash | Jun 2022 | 5x3, 10 lines | 96.71% | Medium | 5,000x |
| Bigger Bass Splash | Jan 2025 | 5x4, 12 lines | 96.50% | Medium | 5,000x |
| Big Bass Splash 1000 | Nov 2025 | 5x3, 10 lines | 96.52% | High | 25,000x |
Bigger Bass Splash sits in the middle. It has a slightly lower RTP than the two older games but more going on in the bonus. The 1000 version is the one for a higher ceiling and higher volatility. Bonanza, with its Low label, remains the gentlest of the four.
Since all four have a free demo, the cheapest way to choose is to play a few hundred spins of each and see which pace suits you. Whatever you pick, check the RTP in the info screen at your casino; the figures above are each game's default.
Trying the Bigger Bass Splash demo
The demo at the top of this page is the official one from Pragmatic Play's servers. It runs in the browser demo with a C$ play-money balance and the same rules as the real-money game. No account, deposit or download is needed, and nothing won is real.
A few things are worth watching in the demo, because they are what set this game apart:
- How often scatter assist fires when two scatters land.
- How many modifiers a round receives before it starts, and how the round plays with none versus several.
- How far the collect ladder climbs in a typical round.
- What the Ante Bet does to trigger frequency over a few hundred spins.
Treat what you see as a feel for the game, not a forecast. Demo results are random in the same way real ones are.
If you want to compare Big Bass titles side by side, each of the ones linked in the next section also has a free demo. Our free slots page collects more.
Bigger Bass Splash questions
The game's rules list 96.50% for the base game, the Ante Bet, Buy Free Spins and Buy Super Free Spins. Casinos choose which version of a game they run, so check the figure in the info screen at your casino before you play for money.
Three, four or five scatters award 10, 15 or 20 free spins. Every fourth fisherman wild collected in the round adds 10 more spins and raises the collect multiplier to 2x, then 3x, then 10x. A +2 spins modifier can also be awarded before the round starts.
It costs 350 times the bet, or C$35 at the C$0.10 minimum, and starts the free spins with every modifier already awarded: more fish, more fishermen, more random features, a level 2 start and two extra spins. Its listed RTP is 96.50%.
No. Bigger Bass Splash uses a 5x4 grid with 12 lines and adds pre-bonus modifiers; Big Bass Splash uses 5x3 with 10 lines. Both cap wins at 5,000x. The provider's web page for Bigger Bass Splash reuses the older game's text, so trust the in-game rules.
Yes. The demo on this page is the official version with a play-money balance in Canadian dollars. No account or deposit is needed, and nothing won can be withdrawn. The buy buttons may not appear, depending on the rules the demo server applies for your region.
