Verdict
Le Bandit packs a lot into one game: Super Cascades, Golden Squares, three bonus rounds and a 10,000x cap, with a published mid-scale volatility of 3 out of 5. The weak point is RTP - four versions down to 88.36% - so check the rules screen at your casino. The free CAD demo runs in a normal browser.
Best for: Players who like cluster pays with a collect-and-reveal feature and a choice of bonus buys.
Skip if: You will not check the RTP line, since some casinos may run the 88.36% version.

What we like
- Golden Squares and Rainbow reveals add coin, clover and pot values to cluster wins
- Three bonus rounds; the top one has a Rainbow on every spin
- 10,000x stated top win and a published volatility of 3 out of 5
- Free CAD demo from Hacksaw with every buy option
Watch out for
- Four RTP versions, the lowest at 88.36%
- Small card-symbol clusters pay a fraction of the stake
- Top bonus round cannot be bought and needs five scatters
- Qbet's two pages contradict each other on Le Bandit free spins
Le Bandit is a Hacksaw Gaming slot built on a 6x5 grid where clusters of five or more matching symbols pay. Its hook is the Golden Square: every winning position turns gold, and when a Rainbow lands, those squares flip over to reveal coins, clovers and pots of gold.
The game has three bonus rounds, two of them for sale, plus two kinds of FeatureSpins, and it states a 10,000x top win. It also comes in four RTP versions, from 96.34% down to 88.36%, which makes checking the rules screen more important here than on most slots. This page explains how it plays, what the buys cost in Canadian dollars, the free demo and the le bandit casinos where it was seen.

Clusters, Super Cascades and the paytable
A win needs five or more matching symbols touching each other on the grid. When one lands, Le Bandit runs a Super Cascade: the winning symbols are removed, and so is every other symbol of the same kind anywhere on the grid, even ones that were not part of the cluster. New symbols then drop into the gaps, which can set up the next win.
The wild substitutes for all paying symbols. Pays rise steeply with cluster size, shown here as multiples of the total bet:
| Symbol | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9-10 | 11-12 | 13+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Top hat | 1x | 1.5x | 2x | 3x | 10x | 30x | 100x |
| Beer mug, baguettes | 0.5x | 0.7x | 1x | 1.5x | 5x | 15x | 50x |
| Silver tool, cheese | 0.3x | 0.4x | 0.5x | 0.7x | 2.5x | 7.5x | 25x |
| 10, J, Q, K, A | 0.1x | 0.2x | 0.3x | 0.5x | 1.5x | 5x | 15x |
Two things stand out. Small clusters of card symbols pay a fraction of the stake, so many base-game wins return less than you bet. And the jump from eight to nine symbols at least triples every pay, so a cascade that adds even one or two matching symbols to a cluster can change the result a lot.
Hacksaw rates the volatility 3 out of 5, the middle of its own scale. The paytable is only half the story, though, because the Golden Squares described next can add coin values on top of these line-free pays. Our cluster pays page lists other games that pay this way.
Casinos
Where to play Le Bandit
How we know: a casino is listed when its published provider list includes Hacksaw Gaming; "seen" means the title was in its own top-games row on that date.
Le Bandit casinos in Canada
Of the casinos we list, 38 name Hacksaw Gaming among their providers. Le Bandit itself was visible in these lobbies:
- LeoVegas - its Canadian lobby on 23 October 2026.
- Qbet - its Canadian casino page on 23 October 2026.
- Lemon Casino - an archived copy of its Canadian page from 14 October 2026.
- Casinova - an archived copy of its Canadian lobby from 15 October 2025.
- Quickwin Casino - an archived page from 16 September 2025.
Qbet deserves a note. The text on its Canadian casino page mentions a first deposit offer of a 100% match up to $250 and 100 free spins on Le Bandit, but its promotion page, checked the same day, lists the welcome bonus with no free spins. The two pages contradict each other, so ask support which applies before you deposit. That promotion page sets 35x wagering within 30 days and a maximum bet of $10 or $1 per line.
Which of these you may use depends on where you live. Ontario permits only AGCO-registered operators under an iGaming Ontario agreement; LeoVegas holds an Ontario registration, but its Ontario site is separate from the Canadian lobby above. Alberta's regulated sites, live since 13 July 2026, need AGLC registration and an AiGC agreement. Offshore operators are not licensed by any Canadian province. Age limits apply too: 19 in most provinces, 18 in Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta.

Golden Squares and the Rainbow
Every position that forms part of a win turns into a Golden Square. On its own a Golden Square does nothing; it waits. The trigger is the Rainbow symbol. When a Rainbow lands, every Golden Square on the grid is revealed, and each one turns into one of three things:
- Coins - Bronze, Silver or Gold, worth from 0.2x to 500x the bet.
- Four-Leaf Clovers - multiply the values of neighbouring coins by x2 up to x10.
- Pots of Gold - collect values.
This is what gives Le Bandit its rhythm. A spin with a long cascade can leave a large part of the grid gold, and the payoff from all that depends on a Rainbow arriving to cash it in.
The three bonus rounds are built around changing that rule. In the first, the squares stay until a Rainbow activates them; in the second, they stay for the whole round; in the third, a Rainbow lands on every spin. The next section sets them side by side. Since a clover multiplies the coins next to it by up to x10, where it lands on the grid matters as much as how many squares are gold.
The three bonus rounds
Free spins are triggered by FS scatter symbols, and the number of scatters decides which round you get. Each one changes how long Golden Squares survive:
| Scatters | Bonus | What changes | Can you buy it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Luck of the Bandit | Golden Squares stay until a Rainbow activates them | Yes, 100x |
| 4 | All That Glitters Is Gold | 12 free spins; Golden Squares stay for the whole bonus | Yes, 250x |
| 5 | Treasure at the End of the Rainbow | 12 free spins with a Rainbow on every spin | No |
The step from the first round to the second is about persistence. In Luck of the Bandit, the squares hold until a Rainbow activates them. In All That Glitters Is Gold, they stay for all twelve spins, whatever lands, so the gold area can keep growing through the round.
The top round, Treasure at the End of the Rainbow, removes the wait altogether, since a Rainbow lands on each of its twelve spins. It cannot be bought; the only way in is to land five scatters.
Hacksaw lists separate RTP figures for the buys: 96.3% for Luck of the Bandit and 96.4% for All That Glitters Is Gold, both close to the default 96.34%. The cost of each buy in dollars is covered further down.
Maths
RTP and volatility in dollars
Over a very long run, Le Bandit is set to pay back about C$96.34 of every C$100 wagered; the house keeps about C$3.66. At C$1 a spin, 500 spins means C$500 wagered and an expected cost of about C$18.30 - real sessions land far above or below that.
The same game also exists at 94.23%, 92.17%, 88.36%. A lower version costs more per C$100 wagered, and the casino - not you - picks which one runs.
Medium volatility: a mix of small wins and occasional bigger features. The cap is 10,000x: C$10,000 on a C$1 spin.
Le Bandit RTP: four versions to watch for
Hacksaw publishes four RTP settings for Le Bandit, and the casino decides which one you get:
- 96.34% - the default.
- 94.23%
- 92.17%
- 88.36%
The gap between the top and bottom settings is almost eight percentage points of theoretical return. Over a long run, the lowest version pays back noticeably less of what is staked, and nothing on the game tile tells you which one you are on. The game looks and plays the same in every version.
The fix takes a minute. Open Le Bandit at your casino, in demo mode if you can, open the game rules from the menu and find the line stating the RTP. If it reads 96.34%, you are on the default. If it reads one of the lower figures, consider whether another casino runs the full version.
Hacksaw also lists RTPs for each paid mode: 96.28% for BonusHunt FeatureSpins, 96.36% for Rainbow FeatureSpins, 96.3% for the Luck of the Bandit buy and 96.4% for the All That Glitters Is Gold buy. Hacksaw does not say whether these figures change when a casino runs one of the lower settings. RTP is a long-run average, not a forecast for your session; over enough spins the house comes out ahead. Our RTP versions guide explains why studios offer these settings.
Feature buys and FeatureSpins in dollars
The CAD demo starts at a $0.10 stake and goes up to $2,000, and feature buys can cost more than that maximum. Using the lowest stake, here is what each paid option costs:
| Option | Price | At a $0.10 stake |
|---|---|---|
| Normal spin | 1x stake | $0.10 |
| BonusHunt FeatureSpins | 3x stake per spin | $0.30 per spin |
| Rainbow FeatureSpins | 50x stake per spin | $5 per spin |
| Luck of the Bandit buy | 100x stake | $10 |
| All That Glitters Is Gold buy | 250x stake | $25 |
BonusHunt FeatureSpins make a bonus five times more likely to trigger, at three times the stake per spin. Rainbow FeatureSpins cost 50 times the stake for each spin. The two buys take you straight into a bonus round.
At the minimum stake, the stated 10,000x top win equals $1,000. That cap applies to buys too: paying for a bonus does not raise the ceiling. Every buy is one large bet, and the round can return far less than its price. If you use them, decide the number of buys before you start.
Real-money stake ranges are set by each casino and may differ from the demo. A site may also choose not to offer the buys. See our bonus buy slots page for other games with the same option.

Le Bandit games: the rest of the series
Le Bandit sits in a wider Hacksaw series of le bandit games and spin-offs. The studio's related titles include Le Bandit Hold & Win, which is a separate game, plus Le Pharaoh, Le King, Le Viking and Le Zeus. They share a naming style, but each has its own mechanics, RTP settings and top win.
Since the titles look alike in a lobby, check the name on the tile before you rely on figures from the wrong game. Two related Hacksaw slots are reviewed here:
- Le Pharaoh - also rated 3 out of 5 for volatility by Hacksaw, with a 15,000x stated top win and a 96.21% default RTP.
- Wanted Dead or a Wild - a higher-rated Hacksaw title at 4 out of 5, with a 12,500x stated top win.
If the cluster-pays grid is what you enjoy, Sugar Rush Super Scatter uses clusters on a 7x7 board with multiplier spots. For the rest of the studio's catalogue on this site, and the casinos that name Hacksaw as a provider, see the Hacksaw Gaming provider page.
Le Bandit demo: play for free
The free game on this page is Hacksaw's own build, the le bandit demo hacksaw serves from its servers, and it runs in Canadian dollars. It was checked on 22 October 2026 and loads in a normal browser without an account. You get the same grid, paytable, Golden Squares, bonus rounds and buy options as the real game, with play money.
If you want to play le bandit for free, the demo is also the best place to learn the expensive parts. Try a handful of Luck of the Bandit buys and a few All That Glitters Is Gold buys, and compare how the persistent squares change the result. Run BonusHunt FeatureSpins for a while and see how often a bonus actually arrives. This costs nothing and tells you far more than any description.
A few practical notes about the le bandit demo slot:
- Hacksaw updates the game build from time to time, so the version number in the demo may change.
- The demo sits behind bot protection, so automated or unusual browsers may be turned away. A normal browser window works.
- Le Bandit free play uses demo credits that cannot be withdrawn.
Make sure the demo le bandit tile you open is the right game: Le Bandit Hold & Win is a separate title with different rules. A demo session proves nothing about the next one, real or free. More free versions are on our free slots page.
Le Bandit questions
The default is 96.34%. Hacksaw also publishes lower settings of 94.23%, 92.17% and 88.36%, and the casino chooses which to run. Open the game rules at your casino to see which version you are on. Hacksaw lists separate figures for the paid modes, from 96.28% to 96.4%.
Yes. Hacksaw's own demo runs in Canadian dollars, needs no account and was checked on 22 October 2026. The le bandit slot demo includes the bonus rounds and every buy option, so you can try the 100x and 250x buys with play money before deciding whether to use them for real.
Hacksaw states a top win of 10,000x the stake. On a $0.10 spin, the smallest the demo allows, that comes to $1,000. The cap applies whether you reach a bonus naturally or buy it, so paying for a feature never raises the ceiling.
LeoVegas and Qbet showed it in their Canadian lobbies on 23 October 2026, and Lemon Casino on an archived page from 14 October 2026. Older sightings include Casinova and Quickwin. Ontario players need an AGCO-registered site; search its lobby for the title.
No. Le Bandit Hold & Win is a separate Hacksaw game with its own rules. This page covers Le Bandit, the 6x5 cluster-pays slot with Golden Squares. Check the exact title on the lobby tile, and in the game rules, before you play or rely on any figure here.
