Verdict
Le Pharaoh is a layered slot: sticky re-drops build Golden Squares, a Rainbow turns them into coins up to 500x and clovers up to x20, and three scatter tiers lead to different bonuses. It pairs a mid-scale 3 out of 5 volatility with a 15,000x ceiling. The RTP is a little below 96.5%, and the line pays alone are thin.
Best for: Players who want feature depth and a high ceiling without the most extreme volatility.
Skip if: You want big line wins in the base game - most of the value sits in the Rainbow features.

Le Pharaoh is a 6-reel, 5-row slot with 19 paylines from Hacksaw Gaming, part of the studio's "Le" series alongside Le Bandit. Winning symbols stick and leave Golden Squares behind; when a Rainbow appears, those squares turn into coins, clovers and pots that pay or multiply. The max win is 15,000x the stake, and Hacksaw's volatility meter puts it at 3 out of 5.
It is also a game where your choices change the published RTP. Pick the Lost Treasures bonus every time and the figure is 96.21%; pick Luck of the Pharaoh every time and it is 96.18%; the bonus buys sit higher, from 96.26% to 96.35%. Below we explain each feature, what the choices mean, and where Canadians can play Le Pharaoh.

Le Pharaoh in figures
Hacksaw's game page for Le Pharaoh has no game data block, so the figures here come from the in-game rules and the demo's own data.
| How you play | Published RTP |
|---|---|
| Always choosing Lost Treasures | 96.21% |
| Always choosing Luck of the Pharaoh | 96.18% |
| Bonus buys | 96.26% to 96.35% |
Hacksaw publishes no other RTP versions for this title. The gaps are small, a few hundredths of a point, but they point the same way: the bonus buys return slightly more over the long run than spinning for the bonus, and Lost Treasures returns slightly more than Luck of the Pharaoh.
The other numbers:
- Layout: 6 reels, 5 rows, 19 paylines.
- Volatility: 3 out of 5 on Hacksaw's meter, the middle of its scale.
- Top payout: 15,000x the stake.
- Stakes in the Canadian-dollar demo: $0.10 to $2,000, with feature buys allowed to exceed the top stake. Casinos set their own limits.
- Release date: not published by Hacksaw.
A mid-scale rating does not mean a low ceiling: the 15,000x top prize is higher than Le Bandit's 10,000x or Wanted Dead or a Wild's 12,500x. Generally, expect a steadier ride than on a 5 out of 5 Hacksaw title, with the large results concentrated in the Rainbow features. Our volatility guide explains how to read ratings like this one.

Sticky Re-drops and Golden Squares
The base game runs on one mechanic. When a spin produces a win, the winning symbols stick in place and the rest of the grid drops again, a Sticky Re-drop. If the re-drop extends the win or creates a new one, the new winning symbols stick too, and the grid drops again. The sequence continues for as long as wins keep growing or forming.
Every position that has been part of a win becomes a Golden Square. On their own, Golden Squares do nothing. They wait for a Rainbow, which is where the game's real value lies.
The regular symbols pay along the 19 lines. Pays are multiples of the bet, for three, four, five and six of a kind:
| Symbol | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scarab | 1x | 1.5x | 2x | 3x |
| Eye of Horus, ankh | 0.5x | 1x | 1.5x | 2x |
| Hourglass, striped staff | 0.3x | 0.5x | 1x | 1.5x |
| A | 0.1x | 0.2x | 0.5x | 0.7x |
| K | 0.1x | 0.2x | 0.4x | 0.7x |
| Q | 0.1x | 0.2x | 0.4x | 0.6x |
| J | 0.1x | 0.2x | 0.3x | 0.6x |
| 10 | 0.1x | 0.2x | 0.3x | 0.5x |
The wild substitutes for all paying symbols and pays 3x for six. Line pays are small: even six scarabs pay only 3x. The line wins exist mainly to create Golden Squares for the Rainbow to work on.
Maths
RTP and volatility in dollars
Over a very long run, Le Pharaoh is set to pay back about C$96.21 of every C$100 wagered; the house keeps about C$3.79. At C$1 a spin, 500 spins means C$500 wagered and an expected cost of about C$18.95 - real sessions land far above or below that.
Medium volatility: a mix of small wins and occasional bigger features. The cap is 15,000x: C$15,000 on a C$1 spin.
Buying in: two bonus buys and FeatureSpins
Le Pharaoh offers four paid shortcuts, and the bonus buys carry slightly higher published RTPs than normal play.
| Option | Cost | At a $0.10 stake |
|---|---|---|
| You Must Choose... (bonus buy) | 100x | $10 |
| ...But Choose Wisely (bonus buy) | 250x | $25 |
| BonusHunt FeatureSpins | 3x per spin | $0.30 |
| Rainbow FeatureSpins | 60x per spin | $6 |
The two bonus buys skip the base game and lead into the bonus games; the in-game buy menu shows exactly what each one delivers. FeatureSpins are a different idea: you pay more per spin to raise the odds of a feature on that spin. BonusHunt FeatureSpins at 3x raise the odds of the bonus; Rainbow FeatureSpins at 60x raise the odds of the Rainbow.
The buy RTPs run from 96.26% to 96.35%, a little above the 96.18% to 96.21% for normal play. That does not make buying a good plan. Each buy concentrates a large stake on one result, and the round can return far less than it cost. Casinos set their own limits, and bonus terms can ban buys while wagering.
For other games with buy menus, see our bonus buy slots, and the RTP versions guide covers why the figure at your casino is the one to trust.

The Le series and other Hacksaw slots
Le Pharaoh is one of a run of Hacksaw titles sharing the "Le" prefix: Le Bandit, Le King, Le Viking, Le Zeus, Le Fisherman and Le Cowboy. One of them has a page here, and the others share the naming rather than a single mechanic, so check each game's own rules rather than assuming they play alike.
- Le Bandit - a cluster-pays game rather than a line slot, with the same 3 out of 5 volatility, a 96.34% RTP and a 10,000x max win. If you like Le Pharaoh's balance but prefer clusters, start here.
Two other Hacksaw slots on this site sit higher on the studio's volatility meter:
- Wanted Dead or a Wild - 4 out of 5, 15 paylines, 96.38% RTP, 12,500x.
- Chaos Crew - 5 out of 5, 15 paylines, 96.30% RTP, 10,000x.
Next to those, Le Pharaoh shares the gentlest rating with Le Bandit and has the highest ceiling of the four. Chaos Crew 2 and Chaos Crew 3, also rated 5 out of 5, state higher ceilings of 20,000x and 30,000x. If the middle of the meter is where you are comfortable, Le Pharaoh and Le Bandit are the two to compare; if you want more swing, Wanted Dead or a Wild and Chaos Crew are the step up. For the rest of the studio's catalogue on this site, see our Hacksaw Gaming page.
When the Rainbow lands
The Rainbow is the feature Hacksaw calls Golden Riches. When it appears, every Golden Square on the grid is activated and turns into one of these:
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Bronze coin | 0.2x to 4x |
| Silver coin | 5x to 20x |
| Gold coin | 25x to 500x |
| Green or Golden Clover | x2 to x20 multiplier |
| Pot of Gold | Collects values |
The coins pay their face values. Clovers are multipliers, and Pots of Gold collect values, which is how a grid of modest coins can add up to something larger. The rules describe the outcome of each piece; the exact way clovers and pots combine on a given screen is shown in the game's help pages, and the demo is the easiest way to see it.
What follows from this design is that the size of a Rainbow payout depends largely on how many Golden Squares were built before it arrived. A Rainbow on a nearly empty grid can activate only a handful of coins. A Rainbow after a long chain of re-drops can light up much of the 30-position grid. That is why the long re-drop sequences matter even though their line pays are small.
The top coin is worth 500x and clovers reach x20, which gives a sense of how the 15,000x ceiling can come within range when the pieces combine. Our max win guide explains what a published ceiling like this means for an ordinary session.
The bonus choice: Luck of the Pharaoh or Lost Treasures
FS scatters open the bonus games, and how many land decides what you get.
Three scatters: you choose
- Luck of the Pharaoh - 10 free spins.
- Lost Treasures - a mode with 3 lives that refill.
Four scatters: the Super versions
- Super Luck of the Pharaoh - 12 free spins.
- Super Lost Treasures - with a guaranteed Adding Stone Tablet.
Five scatters: Rainbow Over the Pyramids
A hidden Epic bonus: 12 free spins with a Rainbow guaranteed on every spin. The Rainbow is what turns Golden Squares into coins and multipliers, so a round that guarantees one on every spin sits at the top of the scatter ladder.
Which should you pick on three scatters? The published RTPs give a small edge to Lost Treasures (96.21% against 96.18% if you always choose the same one). The difference is three hundredths of a point, so treat it as a tie-breaker rather than a reason. The real difference is style: a fixed run of 10 spins, or a lives-based round that continues as long as it keeps refilling. If you are unsure which suits you, try both in the demo.
Hacksaw does not publish how often each scatter count lands, so there is no way to say from the published data how rare the five-scatter round is. Our hold-and-win slots page covers other games with lives-based bonuses.
Le Pharaoh questions
It depends on your choices. The in-game rules give 96.21% if you always pick Lost Treasures and 96.18% if you always pick Luck of the Pharaoh, with the bonus buys between 96.26% and 96.35%. Hacksaw publishes no other versions for this game.
15,000x the stake. The largest single pieces are Gold coins worth up to 500x and clover multipliers up to x20, which a Rainbow can create from the Golden Squares on the grid.
Lost Treasures has a slightly higher published RTP, 96.21% against 96.18%, but the gap is tiny. Luck of the Pharaoh gives 10 free spins; Lost Treasures runs on 3 lives that refill. Try both in the demo and pick the style you prefer.
Paid spins with better feature odds. BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost 3x the stake per spin and raise the chance of the bonus; Rainbow FeatureSpins cost 60x and raise the chance of a Rainbow on that spin.
Casino Days, Lucky Days and Pinnacle list Hacksaw Gaming among the providers on their AGCO-registered Ontario sites, but we have no dated sighting of the game in an Ontario lobby. Open that Ontario lobby and look the game up by name before you register.
